Wanda L. Neeley

Wanda Lou Neeley, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at Advanced Rehabilitation Healthcare of Burleson on May 26, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on June 29, 1936, in Richland, Texas, Wanda was the cherished daughter of Sammie Ellis Fultz and Ethel Irene Fultz. Wanda is now reunited with her beloved husband, Bobby Lynn Neeley, with whom she shared 57 wonderful years of marriage. They were married on August 12, 1955, after Wanda chose love over a promising basketball scholarship following her graduation from Richland High School. She is also preceded in death by her son Russell Wayne Neely, parents, sisters: Evelyn Adams, Martha McDonald, Billie McNeel, Jesslyn McDaniel, and a niece Brenda Combs. Wanda is survived by her devoted daughter Rebecca Neeley of Joshua, Texas, and her loving daughter-in-law Sherri Neeley of Rockwall, Texas. She was a proud grandmother to Brandon Youngblood and Max Youngblood of Kansas City, Ryan Neeley of Rockwall, Texas, Griffin Fraser and wife Chelsey of Rockwall, Texas, Patrick Fraser of Garland, Texas, and Christina Neeley Wilkes and husband Conner of Rockwall, Texas. Wanda's legacy continues through her cherished great-granddaughters, Harper Grace Wilkes and Finley Lynn Fraser, both of Rockwall, Texas. She is also survived by her dear sister Earlene Slaughter of Corsicana, Texas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. During her time in Corsicana, Wanda found joy in attending church, taking leisurely walks, and engaging in her favorite pastimes such as playing solitaire and solving word search puzzles. She was very active in her grandchildren’s lives, always present and supportive. An avid sports fan, Wanda loved all the Dallas sports teams, cheering them on with enthusiasm. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home from 6-8pm. Funeral services will take place at 10am on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Conner Wilkes, Bill Parlett, Chuck Vickers, Ryan Neeley, Bruce Slaughter, and Max Youngblood . Wanda Lou Neeley will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends. Her legacy of love, devotion, and kindness will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
