Tim Thomas

Tim Thomas was born on June 15,1962, to Deana Jo Thomas and Charlie Thomas in Charleston, West Virginia. After battling for months, Tim won his fight against cancer, and on December 27, 2023, he took his first cleansing breath in Heaven. In his high school years, Tim was quite the swimmer, holding a school record at Corsicana High School, but his biggest trophy came when he attended the wedding of friends Kelly and Dwayne Betik, where he met the love of his life, Sharon Pechal. Tim graduated from Mountain View College with a degree in Aviation Mechanics. He then went on to build a career with KC Aviation, Gulf Stream, Bombardier and J. Messinger. To fulfill a dream of being an entrepreneur, Tim then started Igloo Foam Insulation, working in various locations around Navarro County and surrounding areas. He lived his life to the fullest, bringing joy to any person that crossed his path. He could make friends with a fence post and never met a stranger. From the moment Tim met Sharon, he knew she was the one and they quickly put a ring on it and Tim married the love of his life on August 13, 1983. Building their life in Chatfield, Texas, they welcomed two daughters, Meagan and Sarah. Tim spent most of his time traveling the world working his true passion, aircraft avionics. He impacted a large community, even more so when he started Igloo Foam Insulation, where he served surrounding counties insulating homes. When Tim and Sharon were not traveling to their favorite spot in St. Marteen they could be found almost every Saturday tailgating at Texas A&M watching the Aggies. In 2014 he earned his new title of Bopbop. That role became his most beloved and proud passion. Laker, Grace, Ava, Levi and Larson were the biggest joys of his life. The biggest kid of all, he enjoyed introducing them to Aggie football and riding around the land that he loved. He treasured each and every one of them, and in those kids’ eyes, BopBop hung the moon and the stars. Tim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sharon Thomas; his mother, Deana Jo Thomas; and brother-in-law, Carroll Moran. He is survived by his daughter, Meagan, and son-in-law Andy Shafer; Sarah, and son-in-law Caleb Ballew; sister, Holly Moran; brother, Dan Thomas; father, Charlie Thomas; grandchildren Laker, Grace, Ava, Levi and Larson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephew, great nieces and great nephews. Visitation will be Friday, December 29, 2023, 6pm-8pm, at Northside Baptist Church. The funeral will be Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 10am, also at Northside Baptist Church in Corsicana. Graveside service will immediately follow at the new Chatfield cemetery.
