Richie Allan Buck

Richie Allan Buck passed away on January 21, 2026. He was born on August 29, 1965, in Orange, Texas, to George A. Buck Sr. and Betty Jean Bickerstaff Buck. Richie was an incredible husband and father, a caring brother, and a lasting friend to many. He was a man of simple routines, often revisiting his favorite songs, movies, restaurants, and people, always keeping what he loved close. An avid guitarist and a musician at heart, he could often be found strumming his guitar or humming a tune. A natural salesman with the true entrepreneurial spirit of his father, Richie was an award-winning car salesman and manager who genuinely cared about the people he worked with. He wanted everyone he put in a car to be safe and happy when they drove off the lot, and many customers and associates became long-lasting friends. A self-starter, he was always dreaming up new business ideas, with ambitions of starting one…or two of his own. His most recent venture was windshield chip repair and auto detailing, where he jokingly earned the nickname “the Crack Man.” Richie was an animal lover, often surrounded by dogs he cherished dearly and who found comfort in his presence. He was also an adventurer in his own way, using any free weekend to ride his Harley or load up the car with his family for long drives through the country back roads or walking the trails, returning again and again to the familiar sights that brought him joy. He found comfort at home with his family and relatives, and his laughter and grin could light up a room. At times he was quiet and self-reflective, a daydreamer, but if you got him talking, you could feel the kindness and care radiating from him. He was a dependable, honest man who could always be counted on. Above all, Richie was incredibly strong, facing his illness head-on with courage and dignity until the very end. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Arnold Buck Sr. and Betty Jean Buck, and his brother, George Arnold Buck Jr. Richie is survived by his wife of 40 years, Elizabeth Buck; his son, Dustin Buck and wife Meghan; his siblings, Debbie and Johnnie Green; his brothers by choice, Jimmie and Travis Rogers; his niece and nephew, Candice Tippens, Justin Green and his wife Clare; his great-nephews, Alex Tippens, Clayton Green, and Andrew Hurst; and other family. He also leaves behind many lifelong and newly made friends who will cherish his memory. In lieu of sending flowers, please make donations to Calvary Baptist Church, Round Prairie Baptist Church, The American Heart Association, National Kidney Foundation or American Diabetes Association. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel in Fairfield, Texas. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., with his favorite pastor, Bro. Terry Skinner, officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alexander Tippens, Dan Bowen, Jerry Scruggs, Justin Green, Jimmie Rogers, and Lee Yankie.
