Mary Ann Lacy

Mrs. Mary Ann Lacy, 99, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 31, 2015 at Heritage Oaks West in Corsicana, surrounded by her daughter P.J. and husband J.D. Jones who has been her caregivers until entering Heritage Oaks West following a serious fall. She was born on July 23, 1916 in Oelwein, Iowa and married John Frances Lacy in Sioux City, Iowa in 1935. She was a true caregiver, working as an LVN in hospitals in California where she lived until shortly after the death of her husband. She moved to Corsicana in 2002 to be close to her daughter and son-in-law. She was an avid cook, and loved to read cookbooks and collect recipes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frances; grandson, Scott "Jea" Milam; step brothers Charles, Dominic, Frank and Louis Fazio; brother Sam Faligo and sister, Florence Milano. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Lacy and wife Julia and Ronald Lacy and wife Judy all of California; daughter, P.J. and husband J.D. Jones of Corsicana and daughter Lacy Horn of Florida. She is survived by grandchildren, Kerry Lacy of New York, Danny Lacy of California, Sean Lacy and wife Eri of Hawaii, David Milam of Fort Worth and Laurie Smith and husband R.E. of Salido. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Cortney and husband Eric Dimitriou, Wyatt Dimitriou and Kai Lacy of Hawaii along with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends who loved her beautiful smile. She was a member of the Catholic Church in San Diego, California until her move to Corsicana where she joined the Cowboy Church of Corsicana with her daughter P.J. Jones and her husband J.D. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Dr. Kent Rogers, Family First Hospice and the wonderful nurses and aids at Heritage Oaks West for the loving care of Mary, but also the concerns and consideration of the family during her illness. A special thank you to Martha Ramirez who was her special friend and prayed with her through the tough times. Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Cowboy Church of Corsicana. There will be a catered dinner following the service for those who wish to stay are welcome to share in this celebration dinner in her honor.
