Mary Lucille Garcia

Mary Lucille Garcia opened her eyes in Glory on July 27, 2026. Lucille was born on September 22, 1948, in Houston, Texas, to Billy Brack Rash and Mary Belle Nichols Rash. She married the love of her life, Louis Arnold Garcia, on February 8, 1964. She was a wonderful, devoted wife. She was a loving, attentive mother to her four daughters. She enjoyed sewing beautiful dresses for her girls. She was very creative in so many ways. Lucille loved God. She chose to follow Christ at an early age. She loved to study the Bible and learn more about Him and His ways. She lived her life showing kindness to all. She was a room-mother and Camp Fire Girls leader. Alongside her husband, she coached girls softball for 25 years. She worked as a CNA and a Med-Aide in various nursing homes. Her family knows her kindness the most. At every opportunity she shared the Gospel with her family. She prayed for each one earnestly and consistently. Many nights she went without sleep as she was burdened in her heart to pray for her family. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Brack Rash and Mary Belle Nichols Rash; her brothers, Jeffrey Wayne Rash and Lonnie Earl Garcia; her granddaughters, Grace Whistler and Olivia Spindle; and her great grandsons, Wade Whistler and Shooter Banks. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Louis A.Garcia. Daughters, Nancy and Mike Whistler, Melissa and Mark Ivie, Vanessa and Erin Garcia, and Monica and Chris Spindle; Fifteen grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; Sisters, Shirley and Johnny Goode, and Vicky and Scott Moore; Brother, Billy Neal Rash. Sr.; Mother-in-law, Marie Garcia, and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Corsicana, Texas, on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 6-8pm. Service will be at Northside Baptist Church of Corsicana on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11:00am. Followed by graveside at Hamilton-Beamon. Service will be officiated by grandson, Josh Whistler, and music by grandson, Todd Whistler. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Drew Whistler, Isaac Whistler, Colton Spindle, Lawton Spindle, Ellis Spindle, and Brett Spindle. Honorary pallbearers are Brenden Thompson and Billy Neal Rash, Jr.
