Kevin "Gator" Thedford

Robert Kevin (known by many as Gator) Thedford, age 61, of Chatfield, Texas passed away September 19th, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. Kevin was born February 23, 1963, in Corsicana, Texas, the son of Harold Dean Thedford and Bobbie Joyce Sherrill Thedford. Kevin graduated from Corsicana High School in 1981, then went on to attend Navarro College. During his time at Navarro College, he worked on the Navarro College farm and was a member of the Navarro College Rodeo Club. Kevin worked at Dean Thedford Office Supply for 36 years. His passion was cattle ranching, working with Darrell Raines on Grave Creek Ranch for over 40 years. Kevin loved being outdoors and spending time with his family on the ranch, as well as fishing and hunting. He was actively involved within the Rice/Chatfield community and served as a member of the Rice ISD Board of Trustees for a number of years. Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Dean Thedford. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Thedford; mother, Joyce Thedford of Corsicana; daughter, Heather Flores and husband Matthew of Chatfield; daughter, Hillary Caudillo and husband Alex of Chatfield; daughter Haley Hejny and husband Adam of Ennis; son Hunter Thedford and wife Hannah of Chatfield; Austin Anderson and wife Ashley and son Easton of Chatfield; grandchildren, Kenna and Gage Flores, Noah and Abel Caudillo, Cole Hejny, and Hudson Thedford; brother, Ricky Thedford and wife Bebe of Coolidge, Georgia; brother, Alan Thedford and wife Shelby of Blooming Grove; sister, Sheryl Ballard and husband Mike of Bryan; friend, Darrell Raines; brother-in-law, Timothy Christian and wife Jody; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, September 22nd from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Monday, September 23rd at 10:00 am at New Chatfield Cemetery with Mike Ballard officiating. Pallbearers will be Ricky Thedford, Alan Thedford, Hunter Thedford, Austin Anderson, Darrell Raines, Matthew Flores, Alex Caudillo, and Adam Hejny. Honorary pallbearers are LD Johnson, Randy Waters, Mike Ballard, Sloan Thedford, Shane Thedford, Keith Ballard, and Tim Christian. Memorial donation in Kevin’s memory may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
