Harry Joseph Palos

Harry Joseph Palos died at the age of 81 after a lengthy illness of Lukemia. He was born in Rice,Texas on September 30, 1934 and growing up on the farms of Chatfield, Emhouse and Richland he grew with the inspiration of his grandparents and parents to work hard, respect everyone and do your best and appreciate the simple things in life and he used this example to raise his family. He graduated from Emhouse High School and attended Navarro College. He worked as a book keeper, maintenance worker and retired from K Mart Distribution Center. He developed a most unique decorative welding skill and began his own welding construction company after his retirement. His works of decorative gates and fencing are evident all over Navarro County. Growing up he joined the Texas National Guard and served his commitment receiving Honorable Discharge. He was a person who was always willing to help those less fortunate and was a big brother and father figure to many young men coaching them in basketball and baseball. Later he was very involved with the Boy Scout program in Corsicana and helped to positively encourage young children and youths. He never looked for recognition in his Christian influences, he merely did what was right. He was very dedicated to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and James L. Collins Catholic School and the early priest who influenced his character and values. Harry was very dedicated to his wife, Barbara and family. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents John Palos Sr. and Juanita Mora Palos and brother Luther Palos. He is survived by his wife, Barbara of 54 years, son James and wife Delinda Palos, grandchildren, Brandy and Stan Jones of Waxahachie, Jacob and Taitum Palos serving now in the military, Joey Palos also serving now in the military and six great grandchildren, Addison, Brooke and Harrison Jones, Maddox, Leilah and Lexie Palos. Sister Isabelle Guillen of Temple; brothers Joe and Lorena Palos of Corsicana, John Palos Jr. of Dallas, Lewis Palos of Corsicana; sister in law Carol Palos of Corsicana. Harry was a good friend to many and will be missed for all of his positive endeavors he completed in his life. Visitation will take place Friday, January 1, 2016 from 5 pm to 7 pm and prayer service at 7 pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. His cremains will be buried 11 am Saturday, January 2, 2016 privately for the family with Priest from Benedictine Monastery of Thien Tam at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank everyone for the many condolences we have received from the community, Dr. Updegrove and his staff at Navarro Regional Hospital.
