Betty Tomlin

Betty Jane Nutt Tomlin, 89, of Corsicana, Texas passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021, in Corsicana with her family at her bedside holding her hand. Betty was born on February 6, 1931 in Cincinnati, OH to Elizzie (Rogers) Nutt and Elmer Lee Nutt. They moved to Texas when Betty was very young. Betty graduated from Corsicana High School in 1949. She married the love of her life, Glynn Floyd Tomlin on May 14, 1950 and they raised their family in Corsicana. Betty was a seamstress by trade, and she placed love in every stitch that she made. Her last place of employment was at the High School Cleaners. She had a bond with her customers and took great pride in her work. Betty was gifted with her sewing talents. In later years, she enjoyed her needle work making cross stitch and embroidered pieces. Betty also loved working jig saw puzzles as well. Betty was a woman of strong character and faith who loved her family deeply and compassionately. She was Mamaw to so many as she offered unconditional love and was a positive role model in so many lives. She was steadfast in loving and protecting her family. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Glynn, their daughter, Mary Jane and a very special aunt, Mary Henderson. She is survived by her son, Glynn Wayne Tomlin, daughter, Patricia Boyde and son, Steve Tomlin and his wife, Vickie, all of Corsicana. Betty has one sister, Virginia Morris and husband, Jim from Grandbury, TX. She is survived by her grandchildren Chastity Tomlin, Kevin Tomlin, Wendy Vasquez, Staci Ward, Trevor and wife, Meredith Boyde, Amy Raney and husband Steve. She has 11 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home, in Corsicana, on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 1:00-2:00PM and graveside services following at 3:00 PM at Hamilton-Beamon Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Floyd Peterson. Pallbearers will be her great grandsons: Jacob Tomlin, Matthew Thomas, Justin Tomlin, Kade Arismendez, Caleb Vasquez, Joshua Vasquez Brody Boyde and Luke Boyde. Visitation will be Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 1:00pm - 2:00pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Graveside Funeral Service will be 3:00pm Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery with Bro. Floyd Petersen officiating.
