William Dwight Nichols Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Williams D. Nichols, born October 3, 1944 and passed away June 7, 2022 at his brother’s home in Corsicana, Texas at the age of 77. He is now with our Lord Jesus Christ. He was a Native of Hayesville, NC. He was preceded in death by his father, Huston Nichols and mother, Reba Hollifield Nichols. He is survived by his siblings: sister, Iris Dayton and children Denis, David, Dana, Sara and Huston of Hiawassee, GA; brother, Clarence Nichols and wife Diane and their daughter, Georgette Nichols of Corsicana, Texas; brother, Gary Nichols and wife Debbie and their son Andrew Nichols of Huntsville, AL; and his sister, Jane Penland and her sons Derrick and Nicky of Hayesville, NC. Bill was an active and longtime member of Park Meadows Church of Corsicana, Texas. At Park Meadows, Bill was an elder, Sunday school teacher, friend, and brother to Pastor Dave Mitchell. Bill was also an active tutor at Park Meadows Christian Academy. As a teacher of more than 55 years, Bill was committed to Education. A graduate of the University of Georgia. He taught in Georgia, Milford, Texas, Navarro College, Texas State Prison in Palestine, Texas and Kerens, Texas. Bill taught at Kerens I.S.D. for more than 30 years. As a teacher at Kerens, “Mr. Nick” loved Kerens, the school, and the students he taught. Even more, he loved Jesus Christ, his family, his church family and Park Meadows Academy where he spent time teaching and tutoring students. There will be a private memorial service for family only celebrating his life and resurrection on October 3, 2022 in Hayesville, NC. There his ashes will be buried with his mother and father.
