Rachel Haden

October 20, 1938 - December 10, 2020

On the early morning of Thursday, December 10, 2020, Rachel McGraw Haden, loving wife and mother of two children passed away at the age of 82. Rachel was born on October 20, 1938 in Blooming Grove, TX to Joe and Velma Ann (Hiler) McGraw. She graduated from Blooming Grove High School in 1957, and she worked as a homemaker and at Navarro College until she retired. On July 17, 1959, she married William Joseph “Joe” Haden. They raised two children, daughter, Lori, and son, Larry. Rachel had a passion for the simple things in life. She loved family, antiques, old country music, crossword puzzles, word searches and sports. Her love of sports led her to follow her grandchildren from the locales of central Texas to far pieces such as Gillette, Wyoming to support them in all their athletic endeavors. She also enjoyed cooking, as well as, preparing and storing the produce from the home garden she and Joe always had, while belting out lyrics from popular songs of the past in the most beautiful voice you’ve ever heard. Her cooking was always a hit at family functions, as there was never a crumb left, especially from her potato casserole. She was also known for her quick wit and comical adages. Rachel was preceded in death by her father, Joe, her mother, Velma and her brother, Wyndle. She is survived by her husband, Joe, her two children, Lori and husband, Paul, Larry and wife, MaryAnn, her brothers, Buddy and John, her five grandchildren, Travis, Amy, Zane, Katie and Emma, and three great-grandchildren, Kameron, Katelyn and Wyatt. Pallbearers will be Travis LaCour, Wyatt LaCour, Zane Haden, Scott McGraw, Matthew Eaglin and Heath Hill. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home, 1530 N 45th St., Corsicana, TX. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at 1:30p.m. at Dresden United Methodist Church, 13672 FM 744 Barry, TX.
