Melissa Battles
December 30, 1975 - October 2, 2021
Melissa was our loving daughter, our sister, our aunt, and our friend. She left this world at the age of 45 on Saturday October 2, 2021. She goes to be in the loving arms of her beloved grandmothers Bobby and Mama Keaton. One thing we all know is how much you loved us Melissa because you were never shy to let your feelings be heard. She was born December 30, 1975 in Rosenberg, Texas and lived in Corsicana, Texas where she graduated Corsicana High School in 1994 and then later graduated Navarro college where she received her LVN license. She is survived by her father Larry, mother Marie, half-sisters Lori & Latisha and her brother Larry and wife Kristi and their 4 children, Lexis, Mollie, Sam and Katelyn. Melissa loved fiercely and had a passion for helping people and animals. She touched and healed so many lives not only in her career as a LVN but also as an anchor to her family and many friends. She was a fun-loving soul with a heart full of love and beauty a contagious laugh and smile that would light up a room. Melissa’s love for animals was another story, she would bring all these homeless cats and dogs she finds home and sometimes asked, Daddy can I keep her, NO! Next thing you knew we had another cat… The last video she sent while in the hospital was one to her cats, saying kitty, kitty, kitty, I love you my kitties. Although not the worst driver, she ranked in the top 10 on accidents, some her fault some not, but she could always count on Gary Chandler and Larry Lewis to go, anytime or anywhere to rescue her and what was left of the vehicles… We Love you so much and will miss you, Melissa. Visitation will be Thursday, October 7th from 6:00-8:00pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 11:00am Friday, October 8th at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ricky Woodall officiating. Burial will be at Fairfield Cemetery.
