Louis "Doug" Hiler Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Louis Douglas "Doug" Hiler of Blooming Grove, Texas passed from this life on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Waxahachie at the age of 83. He was born on March 5, 1938 in Blooming Grove to George Hiler and Georgia Holcomb Hiler. He graduated from Bloomin Grove High School and Navarro College and served his country in the United States Army. He worked for a number of years at Tom White Chevrolet as a mechanic and then for himself in Blooming Grove and for E. O. Barham maintaining his trucks and equipment. Doug was a member of Blooming Grove United Methodist Church. He likes to run hounds and fishing. He is preceded in death by parents, eleven siblings and his wife Mary Hiler in 2012. Doug is survived by his children Kim Richards and husband Randy and Michael Hiler. His grandchildren Hayden Richards, Shane Richards and Chance Richards. Six great grandchildren and a number of extended family members and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at Griffin - Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 2:00pm at Blooming Grove United Methodist Church with Pastor Kaitlynn Shannon officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Nicholson, Brandon Nicholson, Zane Nicholson, Hugh Nicholson, Shane Richards and Randy Hiler.
