Kenneth Jaeger

July 21, 1931 - January 29, 2022

Kenneth Olen Jaeger went to be with his Heavenly Father on January 29, 2022. Greeting him when he arrived were his parents Olen Robert Jaeger and Ruth Jaeger; sisters Shirley Klein and Donna Hotz. His son Kevin Jaeger greeted him 5 days later on February 3, 2022. He leaves behind his wife of 61 years Peggy Jaeger; sister Beverly Deshazer and husband Roy; children Pamela Gray, Scott Jaeger and wife Kathy Jaeger; 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Kenneth was born on July 21,1931 in East St. Louis, IL. As a child Kenneth enjoyed being outdoors, riding horses and teasing his sisters. He was very athletic and played stickball, handball, hockey, baseball and other sports. At the age of 11 he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at Sterling Baptist Church in Caseyville, IL. Ken entered the Marine Corps at the age of 19 and served in the Korean War. He graduated from Southern Illinois University with a degree in journalism. Kenneth married his love, Peggy on July 14, 1960, in Belleville, IL. Kenneth worked in journalism, public relations and advertising; employed by newspapers, radio stations, universities throughout Missouri, Illinois, Texas, California and other areas throughout the United States. In 1980 his family relocated to Texas. He started the Stockyards Roundup and worked many hours developing the newspaper. The family would like to thank the staff at The Village of Heritage Oaks, Navarro Regional Hospital; a special thank you to Timothy King, PA for his kindness and compassion towards Kenneth in his last days. Ken was a fighter who never gave up, from a child fighting with kids in the neighborhood, to the battlefield in Korea and to the health issues that developed from war injuries, he would continue to fight. Kenneth will be missed dearly by his family and friends, but we celebrate with Ken as he is dancing in Heaven with two legs and a perfect body.
