Jimmie Alford McCarter 83 of Corsicana, Texas went to be with our Lord & Savior March 24, 2022, at his home surrounded by family and friends. Jim was born in Corsicana, Texas October 17, 1938, to Jimmie O. & Pattie McCarter. He graduated from Corsicana High School in 1956 and joined the United States Air Force served our country from 1958-1962. Jim married Sandra L. Sheets McCarter February 24, 1962, in Corsicana, Texas. Jim was a member of many clubs. He was an AARL Amateur Radio Operator member, he served on the Region C Water Planning Group, a member of the Navarro Mills VFD and a member of the Lions Club. He enjoyed traveling with his family showing them the United States, playing dominos and poker with his buddies at the Corsicana Senior Center, enjoyed going to concerts at the Palace Theater, and watching his children and grandchildren participate in all of their extra circular activities. He loved collecting coins and working on his family genealogy. Jim was blessed with his second wife Martha Prestidge McCarter, and they got to spend 17 wonderful years together. Jim is preceded in death by his parents Jim O. & Pattie R. McCarter, and wife Sandra L. McCarter. He is survived by his wife Martha McCarter, son Michael and wife Angie of Waxahachie, daughter Kimberly and husband Jimmy McDonald of Seguin, daughter Kelly and husband Brett Bell of Purdon, daughter Polly and husband John Wynn of Tyler. Grand children Tyler and wife Chelsea McDonald of Lubbock, Caitlin and husband Kyle Hand of Chandler, Karley and husband Tyler Dowdy of Chandler, Tanner McDonald, Sadie McCarter, Kelton Bell, Tucker McDonald and Keegan Bell. Great Grandchildren Jett McDonald and Asher Dowdy. And many wonderful family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday March 29th at Griffin Roughton Funeral Home from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and Services will be Wednesday March 30, at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Younger Cemetery. Pallbearers are Dr. Vernon Bryder, Clifford Arnett, Fred Biltz, Phil Ford, Abner Hyden and James Stubbs. Honorary Pallbearers are Tyler, Tanner and Tucker McDonald and Kelton and Keegan Bell. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Navarro Mills VFD. We would like to thank the staff of Bristol Hospice Crystal, Miranda, Christy, Jessica & Rick for their excellent service, patience and understanding. We would also like to thank his amazing sitters, Terri Anderson, Kiki Perkins, Victoria Beecham, Precious Cephus, Ms. Sally, Ms. Nora and Ms. Nicole for the comfort, love and attention they gave to our family while caring for Jim.
