Clifford Williams

April 7, 1937 - December 18, 2021

Clifford Eugene Williams, 84, of Frost passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 21, 2021, from 6-8 PM at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10 AM on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at the Frost ISD Auditorium with Gordon Lockett officiating. Interment will follow at the Frost Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Todd McGraw, Caleb Martin, Josh Martin, Chris Montgomery, James Hooser, Juan Martinez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dewayne Watson, Buddy Blue, Marice English and Roy Downey. Clifford was born on April 7, 1937, in Aquilla, Texas to J.O. and Ezlee Williams. He was one of Frost's most prominent residents and a leader in the farming industry. Clifford served as a Frost School Board Trustee for 29 years, 45 years on the Navarro Soil and Conservation District, 10 years as a member of the National Federation of Independent Businesses and received the Honorary Chapter FFA degree. Clifford enjoyed his farming career and was a lifetime member of the Texas Cotton Ginners Association and the Texas Independent Cotton Ginners Association. Clifford began his career working for his father at the Mertens Gin in Mertens, Texas. In following years, he began farming his land and is currently part owner of the Williams Gin and Grain in Frost, Texas. Clifford is survived by his wife of 63 years, Karen Williams of Frost, Texas; daughter, Kelly Lockhart; daughter and son-in-law, Kerri and Joe Cook; sister, Barbara McMinn and husband Mike of Waxahachie, Texas; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Clifford is proceeded in death by his son Clifford Williams, Jr.; grandson, Jay Alan Jerden, Jr.; and his parents, J.O. and Ezlee Williams.
