Charles L. Rogers

January 14, 1934 - May 21, 2022

Charles Louis Rogers of Corsicana, Texas was borne to eternal life May 21, 2022, at the age of 88. He is the son of Claude C. Rogers and Carrie Lou Graves. He is preceded in death by his parents, his much-loved wife Jeanette Ross Rogers, brother and sister-in-law Jimmy and Tommie Rogers and brother-in-law Tommy Cantrell. Beloved Father of Dr. Ricky and Debbie Rogers, Ronda Daniel, Robbi Rogers, Randy and Lisa Rogers, Jason and Deidre Oldham, Jennifer and Daron Keel, Jeff Oldham and extended family Terri and Ronald Sykes and Eddie and Debra Gregory. He will be missed by grandchildren David Rogers, Dr. Michael Rogers and Rashdan Ahmed, Gayle Rogers, Joshua and Kris Wood, Patrick Daniel, Samantha and John McDowell, Chris Rogers, and Erin Rogers, Brendon and Bailey Keel, Jase Keel, Chance Keel, Jaden Oldham, and Kamren Oldham. He is survived by 9 great grandchildren, his sister, Dorothy Cantrell, nieces and nephews, Paula Wilson, Tammy and Dwayne Slate, Tommy (Bubba) and Tammy Cantrel, and a number of great-nieces and nephews. Charlie was a fireman/damage controlman in the U.S. Coast Guard, a surveyor for the Soil Conservation Service, and Reservoir Manager for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers before retiring long enough to assist his son in building Roger Animal Hospital. He then returned to work as a Project Manager on various construction and water management sites. He loved the outdoors: fishing, hunting, camping, water-skiing, etc. and passed this love onto his children. He and Jeanette were avid College Football fans who loved for the season to start, watching kids with heart hone their skills, and learning from coaches that care. Graveside service for family will be held at a later date. His family would like to thank his various caregivers with Home Helpers, Veterans Care Coordination, the U.S. Departments of Veteran Affairs, and AccentCare Home Health and Hospice caregivers.
