Annie Owens

August 16, 1941 - September 18, 2021

Annie (Nanny) Lee Owens, 80, of Corsicana departed from her earthly home to her Heavenly home on September 19, 2021. Annie was born in Cookville, Texas on August 16, 1941 to parents E.M. Pop and Catherine Combs. Annie passed away peacefully while be taken care of by the wonderful staff at Epic Nursing and Rehabilitation in Corsicana. Annie is proceeded in death by both parents E.M. (Pop) and Katherine Combs; late husband Glen Easley and late husband of 45 years Phillip Owens, and daughter Cindy Young. Annie is survived by sons Jimmy Easley and wife Michelle of Corsicana, and Ronald (Ronnie) Easley of Corsicana. Annie is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Stacy Dodson, Billie Sangwin, Matthew Almond, Shane Almond, Crystal Pryor, Misty Mars, and Emily Mendez, 22 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Annie married Glen Easley and raised 3 wonderful children, Cindy, Ronnie and Jimmy. In 1973 Glen passed in a pipeline accident. She worked at the poultry house, Collin Street Bakery, and Travelers Inn where she met her second husband, Phil Owens. For those that knew Annie, they would tell you her favorite thing to do was bargain shop with Phil. It did not matter how bad she needed something or how much money she had; Annie wasn't going to buy it until it went on sale. She also loved and cherished her four dogs: Tiny, Moe, Sissy and Buddy. They were her children until they passed. She said she liked them better than her own children because they didn't sass her back. Visitation will be Friday morning at 10-11 a.m. at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Hamilton-Beeman cemetery with Eric Larsen officiating.
