Alberto Padilla

Albert (Veto) Ortiz Padilla, aged 68, left to be with the Lord September 18, 2021. He was born September 10, 1953 in Sinton, Texas to Leonel and Maria. He married his sweetheart and Queen, Sylvia of Corsicana, TX, in November 1977 who preceded him in death in 2021. Albert leaves us much too soon but his love and belief in our God filled him with the knowledge that he had a place in God’s kingdom awaiting him. His strong faith assured him of his rewards in Heaven. He shared this faith with his wife, Sylvia and brother, Chayo, and we believe they are together once again. We remember Albert’s wicked sense of humor, the type of humor that made you want to hug him and smack him all at once. That sense of humor lives on today in his siblings whom he affectionally nicknamed “Chayo”, “Meanie”, “Guera or Guerinche”, “Boy”, “Dodos or Timba”. We remember how much Albert’s family and church family loved him. Albert had a “country heart” at his center and people gravitated towards it. Even when living in “town” and having been far removed from the farm where he was raised, he still sought out places outdoors to soothe his soul. Albert was a man of God, happy and joyful until the day God called him home. He was a dedicated Father first and foremost. He treasured his family dearly and embraced every moment with them. His entire life was lived to leave a legacy for his children and grandchildren, one that passed on his love for the Lord and strong family ties. He was their “Pops”, “Daddy”, “Honey”, “King”, and “Tito”. Albert is the loving & devoted father of Albert Charles Padilla (Melanie) of Iowa Park, TX, Rebecca Johnston (Chris Jones) of Corsicana, TX, Sammy Padilla (Courtney) of Van, TX, Gregory Padilla (Aaren) of Tulsa, OK. Adored “Tito” of Gideon, Skyler, Isaiah, Eli, Joseph, Abigail, Kash, Finn, and Talan. Loving son of the late Leonel and Maria Padilla. Dear brother of the late Jose Rosario (Chayo) Padilla, Luisa Padilla Martinez (Guillermo), Melissa Padilla Yarbrough (Raymond), Melinda Padilla, Linda Padilla Pena (Oscar), Rudy Padilla (Helen), and Melisia Padilla Perez (Orlando). Please join us in celebrating his life Saturday morning, October 2, 2021 at a gathering of family and friends at 9:00a.m. and service at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Worship Center 1364 N. Beaton St. Corsicana, TX 75110.
