Yoli Gamez

Yoli Gamez, resident of Corsicana, passed away at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas on Monday, November 24, 2014 with her family at her side at the age of 61. She was born on May 7, 1953 in Pharr, Texas to Servando Garcia and Manuela Pruenda Garcia. She married Mike Gamez on September 13, 1975 in Pharr, Texas and the two renewed their vows this past Friday at Baylor Medical Center. Family was important to Yoli. She loved her family and made sure to spoil them at any opportunity, especially her children and grandchildren. After moving to Corsicana she worked as an administrative assistant with Parks and Recreation with the City of Corsicana from 1996 - 2001. For the past fourteen years she has been a customer service representative with the Navarro County Electric CO-OP. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Corsicana. She is preceded in death by her father Servando Garcia, brother Raymond Garcia, mother-in-law Bebe Cantu and father-in-law Pres Cantu. Yoli is survived by her husband of 39 years Mike Gamez of Corsicana. Sons; Eli Gamez of Corsicana and Jason Gamez and his wife Bridget of Corsicana. Grandchildren Grant and Molly Gamez. Mother Manuela Garcia, sister Dalia Orozco and brother Oscar Garcia all of San Juan, Texas. She is also survived by her sister-in-laws Diane Ball and her husband Bryan of Corsicana, Terri Puente and husband David of McAllen, Sheila Almanza and her husband Hector of McAllen, brother-in-law Manuel Cantu of McAllen and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday evening from 5 - 8pm at her and Mike's residence at 2820 Hillcrest Corsicana, Texas 75110. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 28, 2014 at 11am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Jason Cargo officiating. A private burial will follow at a later date at Resthaven Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Rash, Charlotte Weaver, Maria Hernandez, Laura Dunlap, Dee Hughes, Hope Edwards and employees of Navarro County Electric Cooperative, as well as, Ned Balcom, Steve Adair, Brett Douglas, Mark Powell, Ricky Holloway, Bobby Davis, Doug Hageman, Robert Gray, Ed Oldham, Matt Stach and the rest of the Corsicana Area Exxon Mobil Employees. The family ask that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to The Hope Center at 1115 West 2ND Avenue Corsicana, Texas 75110.
