Terry Nelson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Terry Paul Nelson beloved father, husband, and Grump's as the name given to him by his grandson Dalton, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the age of 61. He was born in Fort Worth on July 14, 1947 to Buster Ray Nelson and Vivian Ives Nelson. Terry was a partner with Huffman Communications in Corsicana following a career as a salesman with Motorola. He enjoyed working with local volunteer fire departments helping them with whatever they need. Terry was a very intelligent man able to remember vast amounts if information. Every weekend you could find him polishing his motorcycle giving the "peace sign" as people went by. He also collected Harley Davidson items and was an avid music collector with an interest in "Blues music". Terry was a very cautious driver and understood necessity of being careful on a bike. Terry loved his daughter Leslie, she was the light of his life. He is preceded in death by father Buster R. Nelson. He is survived by wife Pat Nelson; son Aaron Nelson; son in law Mike McCluney; grandson Dalton McCluney all of Corsicana; mother Vivian Nelson of Fort Worth; sister Kathy Stafford of Burleson; brother Larry Nelson of Frederickburg; aunt Mary Ann Griffin of Fort Worth; brother in law Jerry and Carolyn Moss of Tyler; sister in law Peggy Moss of Bedford. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Loved friends Allan and Rosemary Hester. Visitation will be 6-8pm Tuesday July 14, 2009 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Memorial service will be 10am Wednesday July 15, 2009 at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Elkins and Rev. LeAnn Griffin officiating.
