Mike Rogers

Michael Evans Rogers, 66, of Corsicana passed away Monday, August 5, 2019 at Baylor Hospital Dallas. He was born July 3, 1953 to Joel Rogers and Joyce Rogers. Mike was raised in Corsicana and graduated Corsicana High School in 1971. In 1973 he married Stacy Lynn Miller of Corsicana. Mike went to work for TP&L in 1974 and stayed with the company as it transitioned to TU Electric and then Oncor. He retired in 2011. Mike was preceded in death by his beloved son Shae, father Joel Rogers, mother Joyce Rogers, sister Brenda Lewis, mother-in-law Wanda Miller, and sister-in-law Suzanne Miller. He is survived by wife Stacy, son Justin and wife Zonia., grandchildren Harley, Haley, and Wes, nephew Chad Kindle and girlfriend Adriane and Chad's children Victoria, Rebecca, and Preston of Corsicana. He was Pop Pop to 2 great grandchildren Kayden and Amzie. He greatly enjoyed all his grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister Vicky Prater and son Trey, father-in-law Darwin Miller, brother-in-law Scott Miller and wife Lisa, their daughter Kristin and husband Matthew, their children Lily and Ada, nephew Matt Lewis and fiancé Shelley, Matt's son Tristin, niece Wendy Lewis and daughters Meghan and Harleigh Paige. He is also survived by an uncle and aunt of Corsicana, Mike and Beverly Brashear and several aunts and cousins. Mike and Stacy were married 46 years and had 2 sons Shae and Justin. His wife and sons were his life. He spent 46 years making sure of their happiness and giving them everything they needed. He was a fine family man, devoted husband, and father who was happiest when they were all together. Mike and Stacy loved the camping life and spent many years taking their sons, nephew Chad, and their friends to the mountains. The week before his passing, Justin, Zonia, Harley, and Rebecca joined him and Stacy at one of their favorite places to visit, Red River, NM. Their being around him gave him so much joy. In retirement they continued with their travels, he and Stacy enjoying many years in their RV together in the mountains, Fredericksburg, and the coast. His passing will leave a huge empty place in their lives. Mike had a very kind heart, always willing to give anyone a helping hand. Mike will be laid to rest Friday, August 9, 2019 during a private family service at Providence Cemetery, Mildred, TX. Officiating the service will be Brother Tim McCaa from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Providence Cemetery, a small country cemetery, is a very special place for Mike since his son is there.
