Michael Daniel

It is with great sorrow and love we announce the passing of Mike Daniel. Mike entered heaven on January 8, 2025. He was at home with his wife, Brenda, by his side. Mike fought bravely against COPD and cancer. God has brought him home where he can breathe freely and suffer no more. Mike was born in Corsicana on December 3,1956. He attended Corsicana schools graduating in 1975. Mike was a heavy equipment operator. In 2012 Mike retired from his position as supervisor from Tarrant County. Mike and Brenda had been high school sweethearts. After not seeing each other for over 30 years, they were reunited in 2010. It was a “chance” meeting at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home that brought them back together. On February 2, 2012, they were married on the beach in Maui. Mike and Brenda enjoyed taking trips in their RV. Many of these trips were to Western Swing Dance Festivals all over the state. It was at these dances they made meaningful friendships with amazing people. Mike was an excellent dancer. Mike was an avid fisherman. Not only could he catch fish, but he could also fry them. Many friends and family members loved his fish fries. Mike would tell you he was a simple man. He preferred lakes, rivers, and mountains to elaborate or fancy places. He never wanted to be the center of attention or expected anything from anyone. He was kindhearted and caring. It can be said Mike lived a life that exemplifies not to let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. He much preferred to give rather than to receive. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Daniel, mother Joyce Livingston, and sister Regina Rula. He is survived by his first love and last love of his life Brenda Crook Daniel, sister, Karen Ocana (Jesse); daughters, Nicole Daniel, Jessica Cook and Lauren Aycock and grandsons, Zane Mitchell, Payton Aycock, Andrew Cook; granddaughters, Abigail Cook, Bria Daniel and dear friend Kendra Bunch, Dancing friends from the Texas Swing Dancers and his pets Max and Gertie. Goodbye is not forever. Goodbye is not the end. It simply means I’ll miss you until we meet again. Visitation with the family will begin at 2:00pm, Saturday, January 18th with a Celebration of Life following at 3:00pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Donations may be made to the Corsicana Animal Shelter or CASA of Navarro County
