Max C. Rash

Max Carol Rash, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully, on December 28, 2025, at the age of 83. He was born on August 12, 1942, in Mildred, Texas, to Blanche Viola and Charlie Luel Rash. Max lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication, which he shared with those fortunate enough to know him. Max was a proud graduate of Mildred High School, class of 1960. After surrendering to the ministry, he became a well-respected biblical scholar and Bible teacher, known for his wisdom and understanding. His thirst for knowledge led him to attend Navarro College, Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU), where he ultimately earned his master’s degree in Counseling. Max dedicated his life to serving God and his community, spending over 30 years as a pastor in various churches. He was a devoted member of Highpoint Church, where he preached and inspired many with his teachings. In addition to his pastoral work, Max served in the Army National Guard, where he attended officer candidate school and achieved the rank of First Lieutenant. His military service instilled in him a sense of discipline and commitment that he carried throughout his life. Max was not only a diligent counselor but also a skilled entrepreneur. He worked in banking and ran several businesses over the years. Later in life, he and his childhood sweetheart and wife, Robbie Gene Rash, obtained their Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDLs) and became transport drivers, traversing the country together. Their adventures allowed them to explore the entire continental United States, Alaska, and eleven Canadian provinces, as well as several countries overseas, creating memories and having adventures along the way. Max and Robbie's love story began in their youth; they were childhood sweethearts who married in 1961 and remained inseparable throughout their 64 years of marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in love, faith, and community service, often working side by side in their various endeavors. Their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them. Max is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Dale Rash, sister Mona Joe Folmar, daughter Kimberly Terrell, and granddaughter Erin Chu. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength through his surviving family: his devoted wife Robbie; sons Todd Rash and wife Allison, daughter Tara Ayers and husband Byron; grandchildren Evan Chu and wife Hannah, Elissa Chu, Ally Tarankov and husband Tima, Kit Rash, Elana Chu, Sydney Rash, Gracie Huddleston and husband Nathan, and Daniel Ayers; and three great-grandchildren, Elias, Roman, and Clara Tarankov. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, who will hold his memory dear to their hearts. Max Carol Rash's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and service. He impacted countless lives through his teachings, compassion, and unwavering support. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the community he so dearly loved. Visitation will be January 3rd from 3:00-5:00 at Griffin Roughton funeral home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 4th at 4:00 at Highpoint Church to honor Max and to celebrate his remarkable journey and the legacy he leaves behind.
