Mattie Short Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mattie Dell Short, former resident of Frost, passed away on Sunday morning July 24, 2011 at Ennis Regional Medical Center at the age of 89. She was born on February 23, 1922 in Aquilla, Texas to Robert D. and Elizabeth Gilmore Baird. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband James J. (Pat) Short on April 25, 1968. Survivors include her son Lynn Short of Frost. A niece Bettye Baird Keathley of Waco. Great niece Kathy Dianne Cawthron and her husband Richard of Bastrop and great great nieces Delaney and Savanah Cawthron. Also one cousin Benny C. Baird of Bellmead. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 6 - 8pm at Griffin - Roughton Funeral Home in Corsicana. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel at Griffin - Roughton Funeral Home on Tuesday July 26, 2011 at 10am with Bro. Grady Cashion of First Baptist Church in Blooming Grove officiating. Following the service burial will take place at the Frost Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Todd McGraw, Pedro Hernandez, Tony Sanders, Jeff Moore, Elbert Butler, Jimmy Mitchell, Jimmy Hooser, and James Hooser.
