Marjorie Ann Wright

Marjorie Ann Workman Wright (Margie), passed from this earthly world on September 8th, 2022 at the age of 80. She was a resident of Mertens. Margie was born on August 20th, 1942, in Dallas, Texas to parents, James Workman and Viola McBee Workman. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Sandra Davis, brother John Workman, and brother-in-law Johnny Davis. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Sweeney and her husband, Terry Sweeney of Mertens, Texas. Her grandchildren include Brandon Cave and his wife Britney, of Benbrook, Lori Watson and her husband Nick of Mertens, and Preston Cave and his wife Sarah of Granbury. She also had several great- grandchildren; Parker Hallmark and his wife Aimee of Granbury, Perry and Titus Cave of Granbury, Cole, Case, and Connor Watson of Mertens, Norah, Gavin, and Lincoln Cave of Benbrook. Her nephews include Johnny Ray Davis of Dawson and Donald Davis of Dawson and great- niece Amber Davis of Corsicana, along with her two daughters, Landyn and Lyla Babers. Also, survived by her friend and companion, T.W. Oliver. Margie worked for over 50 years as a dog groomer, which she enjoyed very much. She had a passion for animals and was able to own a dog grooming business for several years. Crafting was another passion of hers. Throughout her life, she attended several craft shows and fairs when she was able to. Even the week before her death, she was still learning how to make new fall decorations and excited to show them off to her family! She will be remembered by friends and family for her love of “pretties”. She loved anything that sparkled and would collect things that she thought were beautiful. She loved her treasures. Nature and being outdoors was also a love of hers. She was a member of the Mertens First Baptist Church, which she thoroughly enjoyed being a part of. Her love for the Lord was evident. Family was her most important treasure of all. Karen was the apple of her eye. They had an unbreakable bond.
