Marcus Humbert

Marcus Edwin Humbert was born on July 13, 1936 in Corsicana, Texas. He left this earthly world and entered his eternal home on January 1, 2009 at the age of 72, surrounded by his family. Though he will be missed, we celebrate his victory and homegoing after his courageous battle with cancer and myasthenia gravis. His family cared for him and stayed by his side through this fight. Marcus was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Ida (Loftis) Humbert and brother Jimmy David. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joyce (Dyer) Humbert. Daughters and son in laws Deborah and Don Crow Jr. of Waxahachie, Donna and Gaylon Whittenburg, Dana and Cliff Lord of Corsicana. Grandchildren Don (Trey) Crow III and Bridgett of Salina Kansas, Mark Crow and Veronica of Palmer, Jeff and Dawn Roddy, Brandi and Sam Wiggins, Clayton and Colton Lord all of Corsicana. Great grandchildren Madalyn, Carson and Lauren Crow of Salina Kansas, Jaden and Ella Crow, Stefany and Hector Perez of Palmer, Albert Fuller and Dalton Roddy, Anna Marie and Delia Rose Wiggins all of Corsicana. Also honorary grandson and great grandson Bobby and Brandon Whittenburg of Corsicana. He is also survived by a brother William (Bill) and Lucy Humbert of Corsicana and sister Kay Beth Jackson of Arlington. He has a host of other family members, friends, prayer warriors who have all helped his homegoing be easier on those with him. God truly blessed us with a wonderful Christian husband, father, papaw, great papaw, brother, uncle, friend, prayer warrior, .... The family would like to thank Hospice of Cedar Lake for their care and kindness during this difficult time. Special thank you to Phyllis Payne, RN and Shawnda Witherspoon, CNA for their support, concern and love shown to our family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Corsicana, American Cancer Society, Myasthenia Gravis Foundation, Hospice of Cedar Lake or a charity of your choice. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Saturday January 3, 2009 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Services will be 2pm Sunday January 4, 2009 at Griffin-Roughton Chapel. Burial will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Trey Crow, Mark Crow, Jeff Roddy, Bobby Whittenburg, Sam Wiggins, Albert Fuller, Josh Jackson, Mark Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Clayton Lord, Colton Lord, Dalton Roddy, Carson Crow, Brandon Whittenburg, Randy Hughes and the Adult Men's Sunday School Class.
