Lucia Felicitas Segura

Lucia Felicitas Segura, born in Waxahachie, Texas, on March 17, 1956, to Alberto and Ramona Valdez, passed away peacefully at Providence Hospital in Waco, Texas, on July 16, 2025. A devoted homemaker throughout her life, Lucia dedicated herself to creating a warm and loving home for her family. Her hobbies included cooking and making homemade tortillas, which filled the house with the delightful aromas of Mexican-Tex Mex cuisine. She deeply loved her children and grandchildren; they were the center of her world. Lucia also had a passion for dancing to oldies, and when Elvis Presley songs played, she would turn up the volume and let the music take over, lost in the joy of the music and the simple pleasures of life, forever young at heart. Surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren, she remained a source of strength until her final moments. Her infectious smile and unwavering kindness left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Lucia's legacy of joy and compassion will continue to shine brightly through those who loved her. Lucia was preceded in death by her father, Alberto Valdez; her mother, Ramona Campos; her husband, Delfino Segura; her son, Delfino Segura Jr.; her daughter, Audrey Jean Segura; her sisters, Beatrice Montemayor and Maria D. Montemayor; and her brothers, Phillip Valdez, Lawrence Valdez, Pedro Valdez, and Ramon Valdez. Lucia is survived by her daughters, Melissa Segura, Eva Segura, and Maria Luna; and her sons, Vincent Valdez,Jason Valdez; and Steven Segura; and her sisters, Alicia Schlinker and Caroline Valdez; and her brothers, Mariano Valdez, Victor Valdez, Albert Valdez, and Marcus Valdez. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lucia's memory will be cherished by all who knew her. This isn’t a goodbye, but rather a “see you later,” Mom. You will be deeply missed. Come to Me God saw you getting tired And a cure was not to be So he put his arms around you And whispered, "Come to Me." With tearful eyes we watched you And saw you pass away; Although we loved you dearly We could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard-working hands at rest; God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
