Kenneth "Stumpy" Loyd Coppock

Kenneth Loyd Coppock, affectionately known as “Stumpy,” “Dad,” and “PawPaw,” passed away peacefully at his home on April 17, 2025. He was born on January 29, 1952, in Corsicana, Texas, to G.W. Coppock and Loretta Lane Cottongame. Kenneth attended Corsicana schools and spent over 35 years as a dedicated employee of the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company. Never one to sit still, he also had a long-standing side job caring for others’ lawns — a job he took pride in and performed with heart. A true people person, Kenneth never met a stranger he couldn’t strike up a conversation with. He was a master storyteller, always ready with a tale and a laugh that would echo in your memory long after. With a happy-go-lucky spirit and a smile that lit up every room, he believed in fairness and second chances for everyone. As the cowboys say, “he was a top hand.” Kenneth is now walking the streets of gold with the love of his life, Paula. He is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Wylie “Cotton” Cottongame, brothers Gary Wayne Coppock and Donald Ray Coppock, sister Alene Coppock, his beloved wife Paula Coppock, and stepson Troy Bullard. He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Dennard and husband Robert, Sherri Montfort and husband Matt, and Gina McDonald; stepsons Jeff Boyd and Daniel Bullard; brother George Coppock and wife Barbara; brother Shawn “Bubba” Cottongame and wife Jennifer; sisters Shanna Lee York and Shane Mann and husband Donnie. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Sarah Mapes, Leslie Tullos and husband Troy, Cole Stallings and wife Rebekah, Logan Stallings, Mason Montfort and Jason, Mark Montfort and wife Emily, Dylan McDonald and Hailee, Dalton McDonald and wife Abigail, and Drew McDonald. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Ryland Arnold, Levi Tullos, Stetson Tullos, Emery Stallings, Louis Stallings, Kreed McDonald, Gracyn McDonald, and David McDonald, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. The family extends heartfelt thanks to his niece Amanda Coppock, who always came to Stumpy’s rescue and kept his home “spick and span”; to his neighbor Robert Rawls, for his lawn care and helping hands; and to CenterWell Home Health and Bristol Hospice Pathways for their loving care and support in his final days. Kenneth was an all-around good man — kind-hearted, loyal, and unforgettable. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm Monday, April 21, 2025, Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2:00 om Monday, April 21, 2025, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cole Stallings, Mark Montfort, Logan Stallings, Dylan McDonald, Dalton McDonald, Rob Rawls, Bradley York, Sammy York. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryland Arnold, Levi Tullos, Stetson Tullos, Drew McDonald, Louis Stallings, Kreed McDonald, David McDonald.
