Karl Robert Zaccone

Karl Robert Zaccone, 78, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, in Burleson, Texas. Karl was born on April 27, 1948, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Otto Zaccone and Lucy June Hennig Zaccone. In June of 1971, Karl met the love of his life, Jo Ann Johnson. After only their third date, he asked her to marry him, beginning a love story that would last a lifetime. The couple was married on December 29, 1971, and shared nearly 55 wonderful years together filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Karl dedicated 30 years of his career to Combustion Engineering/ABB, where he traveled the world helping build power plants. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed every opportunity to provide for his family before retiring. Karl embraced life with enthusiasm and generosity. He enjoyed playing golf, watching sports, and spending hours learning through military history documentaries. An exceptional Italian cook, he found great joy in preparing meals, grilling, and entertaining family and friends. More than anything, Karl treasured time spent with those he loved. He delighted in spoiling his wife, daughter, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and his mother-in-law. Known for his generous spirit and heart of gold, Karl's kindness and love touched everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Lucy June Zaccone; his brothers, Neil Zaccone and Paul Zaccone; his mother-in-law, Lillian Pillans Fullerton; and his brothers-in-law, Danny Territo and Thomas Dockery. Karl leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Jo Ann Zaccone; his daughter, Lisa Zaccone; his granddaughter, Savannah; his step-grandchildren, Ethan Michael and Emma Michael; his sisters-in-law, Tricia Territo Dockery, Connie Ivie and husband Mike; his brothers-in-law, David Johnson and Kevin Fullerton; his nieces and nephews, Tina Territo Roughton and husband Billy, Tami Territo Andrews and husband Clint, Leslie Johnson Croft, Lacy Ivie Tekell and husband Tyler, Rachel Ivie Coy and husband Caleb, David Dustin Johnson and wife, Michael Dockery and wife Megan, along with numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. Karl will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his remarkable work ethic, his generous heart, and the warmth he shared through every meal he prepared and every moment he spent with those he loved. His legacy of love, laughter, and selfless devotion will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. Visitation will be 10:00 am Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel. Celebration of life will begin at 11:00 am Wednesday at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Austin Roughton, Chasyn Andrews, Westyn Andrews, Kevin Fullerton, Mike Ivie and Benny Pillans. Honorary pallbearers will be David Johnson, Billy Roughton and Clint Andrews.
