Karen Kingston Bryant

Karen Kingston Bryant peacefully passed away at the home of her daughter Julie and son in law Randal Forguson on Thursday July 24, 2025. She was born on October 25, 1938 in Waterbury Nebraska and graduated from Sioux City High School in 1956. Karen met Leon Cravens through her father and they married in Sioux City Nebraska in 1957. Karen and Leon lived an active and eventful life crisscrossing the country following his work in the horse racing industry. They lived in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Louisiana and California making warm memories and dear friends along the way. The family settled in Waxahachie in 1970. While living in Waxahachie Karen began working with the Ellis County sheriffs office and loved her career in law enforcement. She held many positions throughout the years, each providing her with lifelong friendships and opportunities to excel in her chosen profession. She remained with the sheriff's department until their move to Benton Louisiana and finally on to Konawa Oklahoma where Leon passed away in 1989. After Leon's death Karen moved back to Waxahachie to be near her children. She returned to her career in law enforcement with the Ellis County sheriff's office where she met her second husband Jeff Bryant. They married in 1994. Upon their retirement, Karen and Jeff enjoyed several years of fun, relaxation and travel until his death in 2018. Karen remained in Waxahachie at Country Lane Senior Community making new friends and staying active until her recent move to live with her daughter Julie and son in law Randal. Karen is survived by her children, Julie (Randal) Forguson of Rice, Bryan (Susan) Cravens of Waxahachie, Kelly (Alicia) Cravens of Blooming Grove, grandchildren Eric McAdams, Aaron McAdams, B.J. Forguson, Louie Cravens, Adam Barrett, Bradley Cravens and Will Cravens and great-grandchildren Kaydee, Kamdyn and Everlee McAdams, Bennett, Tillman and Eleanor McAdams, Colton, Barrett and Ryker Forguson, Levi and Emma Barrett, Elliott and Henry Cravens, brother Larry Kingston and sister Maxine Justice, sister-in-law Debbie Foster and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Laverna Kingston, brother Jerry Kingston, sisters Janis Patterson and Lila Diaz, great-granddaughter Madelyn Cravens and husbands Leon Cravens and Jeff Bryant. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, August 2, 2025 at New Beginnings Family Fellowship, 11816 W State Highway 22, Blooming Grove.
