Juan Emilio Canales Jr.

Juan Emilio Canales, Jr., age 66, of Waxahachie, Texas, passed away on November 8, 2024, at Clements University Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He was born on February 17, 1958, in Managua, Nicaragua, to parents Juan Emilio and Thelma Canales. Juan is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Mariadelpilar Canales; his son, Emilio Canales; his sisters, Gina Gonzalez and Thelma Maria Jara and her husband, Francisco; and his cherished nieces, Giselle Jara and Jennifer Jara, and nephew, Sean Laundry. He was preceded in death by his parents. For 23 years, Juan and Mariadelpilar made their home in Indianapolis, Indiana, where Juan was an active member of his church community and dedicated Bible study teacher. Later, they relocated to Waxahachie, Texas, where he continued to share his faith and serve his church, Rios de Agua Viva. Known for his kindness, warmth, and unwavering faith, Juan’s presence touched many lives. He also had a deep love for sports, especially tennis and golf, and shared his enthusiasm with family and friends. A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, November 16, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home, with Pastor Francisco Maldonado officiating.
