Jordan David Richards

Jordan David Richards, 30, or Corsicana, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 at his residence. Jordan was born on November 18, 1983 in Corsicana to David and Donna Richards. He graduated from Blooming Grove High School in 2002. He loved being a Blooming Grove Lion, and his proudest moment was receiving the Most Athletic award his senior year. This was important to him because it was an award his father and grandfather had both received, as well. Jordan was currently employed by Cotton Patch in Corsicana, serving as the general manager after having worked his way up from server. He enjoyed seeing his "regulars" and cherished the relationships he made over the years with them and his employees. He may not have been the easiest person to work for at times, but he truly cared about them. Jordan had a passion for sports. He was always up for a game of golf, no matter what the weather was like. He spent many days at The Oaks Trail Golf Course golfing, throwing darts, and hanging out with the guys. The golf course was his home away from home. When he was not there he was watching a game of some kind, somewhere. He enjoyed spending time with his family and fiends, cooking out, playing dominos, and watching one of his favorite teams on television. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, Texas rangers, and Texas Longhorns. He was a fan all the time no matter the outcome. Jordan was a great son, brother, brother-in-law, boss, and friend. He was always someone you could count on and had a heart of gold. His smile and dimples could always brighten the day, but I think if you were to ask Jordan what his favorite title of all was, he would definitely say as Uncle Jordan, or Jo Jo. His nephew Daxx and niece Addisyn, always brought a smile to his face, and he always brought one to theirs. And boy, oh boy, did he love spoiling those babies. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Noel Furra, grandmother Thelma Richards and aunt Charlotte Armstrong. He is survived by his parents Donna and David Richards of Corsicana; sisters: Brooke Anderson and husband Matt of Corsicana and Meredith Armstrong and husband Brandon of Blooming Grove; nephew Daxx Anderson of Corsicana; niece Addisyn Armstrong of Blooming Grove; grandmother Hazel Furra of Blooming Grove; grandfather Wayne Richards of Corsicana; aunts and uncles: Doug and Janice Furra of Plano, Gary and Denise Blase' of Houston and Randy Richards of Corsicana, along with numerous cousins and fiends. Visitation will be 6 - 8pm Monday, September 22, 2014 at Griffin - Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 10am at First Baptist Church in Blooming Grove with Kenneth Hutchison officiating. Burial will follow at Dresden Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Will Atkeisson, Jordan Golden, Sam Harvey, Greg Mills, Chris Oldenburg, Brian Page, Anthony Rodriguez and Dwain Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be members of The Oak Trail Golf Course.
