Jimmie Price

Jimmie Ray Price, 67 of Barry passed away Monday, May 28, 2018. Jimmie was born February 4, 1951 in Corsicana to Homer Preston Price and Ida Lou (Bridges) Price. Jimmie graduated from Corsicana High School in 1969. Shortly after he was drafted in the Army where he spent two years on active duty, and four years in reserves where he spent serving our country with the rank of SP5. While serving in the reserves he attended electrical school and became an master electrician for Hickey Electric. Later he became an OTR truck driver. His first employment was with Rylie Trucking Company. Moving on he started working for Tom's Food Company which became Lance Food. While working for Lance he became a member of the Million Mile Safe Driving Club where he drove over a million miles without an accident. Jimmie was a member of First Baptist Church in Blooming Grove for twenty years. He enjoyed going on mission trips to Mexico and Colorado. He was active in the community as a little league coach and served on the Navarro Mills Water Board. He married the love of his life November 6, 1970 who gave him three young men. His family remembers him as an amazing husband and father. He is survived by his wife Kathlene Holleman Price of Barry; children, Jimmy Scott Price and wife M'Lissa of Barry, Steven Lee Price and wife Emily of Corsicana and Daniel Price and wife Jessica of Italy; one grandson, Tyler Scott Price of Euless and one granddaughter, Mar'Leigh Davis of Barry. He is also survived by his brother, Alvin Wayne Price and wife Becky of Corsicana; sister, Erlene Dillon and husband Donald of Corsicana along with several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Ida Price. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Thursday, May 31st. Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Friday, June 1st at First Baptist Church of Blooming Grove with Bro. Grady Cashion officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Beeman Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Pommerening, Gary Scott Dechaume, Jimmy Taylor, Garry Holveck, Bryan Upchurch and Lance Horner.
