Jane Knight Ross

Martha Jane (Knight) Ross, age 80 of Frost, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 7th, 2018. She passed in Corsicana, Texas with her son and daughter at her side. She was born on August 15th, 1938 to Winston Echols Knight and Marie Amelia (Blake) Knight in Corsicana, Texas. She was a 1956 graduate of Frost High School. She married William Andrew "Buddy" Ross Jr. on June 10th, 1956. She was a staple of Frost Independent School District as the Tax Assessor and Collector until she retired. Often, she took the role of nurse, mother, disciplinarian and gate keeper of the school. She truly loved her continued service as a Frost Polar Bear and dearly loved the students and faculty that passed through the school doors each day. Growing up she loved her daddy, loved to dance, loved her fellow classmates, caring for animals (especially a bay horse) and had a life long love of reading. She often told entertaining stories of her school days. She was a member of the Frost United Methodist Church and adored her church and church family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Buddy Ross, of Frost Texas. After his death, she wrote "...they loved each other until death parted them and she loved him ever after". She is survived by her son, John Paul Ross and wife Sherri of Frost, Texas; her daughter, Amy Ross Lester and husband Tom of Corsicana, Texas; She was best known as "Mums" to her Grandchildren Kathleen Cameron and husband Jerrod, Madison Medrano and husband Michael, Mikayla Hippard and husband John Grady, Tony Aguado and wife Jennifer, Nicole Hill and husband Josh, Tatum Lester and fiance Andrew Chadwick; Great-Grandchildren Autry Ty, Buddy Ross, Maddox Andrew, Lenny Ruth, Nolan Avery, Lanie, Tristin, Sydney, Megan, Luke, Maddox, and Madison. She was also survived by her adored feline companion "Boots-Socks". Family, friends, and others whose lives Jane touched are invited to visitation at Griffin-Roughton Funeral home in Corsicana on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service to be conducted on Thursday, October 11th, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Griffin-Roughton Funeral home in Corsicana, Texas. Burial will follow at Dresden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Frost United Methodist Church.
