James Williams

Reverend James Earl Williams went peacefully home to be with Jesus on January 30, 2024, with his family at his side at the age of 68 years old. He was born on May 8, 1955, in Corsicana, Texas. He married the love of his life Judy in 1977 and they had 46 wonderful years together. He was a husband, dad, papa, and pastor. He loved God and his family immensely. James is survived by his wife Judy (Pair) Williams of Corsicana, two daughters Sheree Roughton and husband Brad, and Kasey Singleton and husband Eric of Corsicana. James is also survived by his grandchildren Bailee Hall and husband Izaiah, Mason, Ella, Lawson, Rhett, Paislee, Corbin and great grandson Maddox Hall. Siblings David Williams and wife Louella, Shirley Prichett and husband Dwayne, Sandy Sykes and husband Keith and his mother Mary K. Williams as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved Church family. James was preceded in death by his father David Williams, sister Nellie Jenkins, and nephew Chad Williams. If you ever went fishing with him, he would always have a tale to tell, and made it truth about the saying "up the creek without a paddle." Also, a tale to tell if ever experience a camping or boating trip with him. Sunday's lunch at home with a loud house of family, love, and good food was his favorite. He was a pastor who loved his church family and would tell anyone that he has the "best church people". He ministered for 31 years and continued until his last breath. He started out at Northside Assembly of God and completed his dad's dream of building a new and bigger church. The church that was built was his church, Trinity Assembly of God which he pastored at for 12 years. When he turned over his life to the calling of God, he was all in. A simple man who loved big that was kind and giving. He was a lot like his dad and loved following his footsteps. He liked to go to Whataburger to drink coffee and visit. He never met a stranger. He loved going to camp meetings. He always loved to meet and tell them about Jesus. A man that loved simple living and simple things made him happy. He loved working on the church with everyone, but especially his brother David to fulfill his dad's dream. Even though he was weary and tired, he never stopped working. This pastor work is done on Earth; he laid down his armor and picked up his robe and crown. 2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course. I have kept the faith." You will be missed! We love you Dad, Papa, Brother and Pastor! Visitation will be held Friday, February 2nd from 6-8pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 11:00am Saturday, February 3rd at Trinity Assembly of God.
