Franklin (Buddy) E. Withrow

F.E. (Buddy) Withrow III resident of Corsicana went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 14, 2014 at the age of 84. He was born January 15, 1930 in Teague, Texas to F.E. Withrow Jr. and Faye Carpenter Withrow. He grew up in Richland, Texas and graduated from Richland High School, he later attended and graduated from the University of Baylor with a degree of Bachelor of Business Administration in 1952. In 1954 he opened Withrow Furniture Co., later moving into the old Sears building where it remains today. On April 6, 1956 he married Mary Helen Caton. They have remained married for 58 years. Buddy loved all sports, he was an avid fan of the Baylor Bears, Cowboys, Rangers, Mavericks and the Yankees. He loved to fly, he had a pilot license and loved to take friends and family up for a ride that they probably wouldn't forget. Buddy also achieved a 5th degree black belt in karate under the instruction of Keneth Powers. He was also a member of the YMCA for some 60 years. He loved playing volleyball with the "old gang". Buddy most of all loved God, his family, friends and his Sunday school class. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was in the choir for many years. He loved fellowship with family, friends and with someone he may have just met for the first time. He enjoyed getting to know people and helping others. He was a very caring and giving man. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Withrow; brother, Joel Withrow; sons, Mike Withrow and wife Sandra, Mark Withrow and wife Suzie; grandchildren, Michael Withrow and wife Sara, Courtney Aguado and husband Josh, Bradley Withrow and Morgan Baggett, Ashley Douglas and husband Daniel and Toni James; great grandchildren, Owen, Riggen, Eli, Josie and Alena all of Corsicana. Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon November 18, 2014 from 1 - 3 pm at Northside Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm at Northside Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Lamb officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton - Beeman Cemetery in Retreat. Pallbearers will be Jim McNeal, Gary Ferguson, Don Harvey, Bud Osborne, Jim Hodge and Marc Maxwell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Buddy Caton, Jerry Caton, Herman Mills and Linzy Hazelwood. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Northside Baptist Church.
