Earnest Walker

Earnest Dale Walker was born November 24, 1924 to Emma and Roy Walker in Union High, Texas. He was the second born child and the only son to his family. Earnest went to be with the Lord on February 4, 2023. Life is unexpected. Just a few days ago the world lost a much loved and respected man. He loved his life and lived it to the fullest. He loved his family even when they were unlovable. He married his sweetheart, Jo McAdory on November 21, 1944. They lived 78 years of love, laughter and holding hands. Earnest made a living in the early years milking cows at dairies near Corsicana and later at Knudsen's Creamery in California. The couple soon began selling Stanley Home Products where he won many top sales and management awards. Upon retirement in 1977 he began selling real estate in Corsicana for Wallace Pryor. Following Mr. Pryor's death that same year Earnest earned his Brokers license and he and Jo founded Walker Realty. Earnest remained the principle Broker for many years. Ernests belief in hard work instilled a work ethic in his children and grandchildren. He lived his final years on his farm in Corbet, Texas with his beloved wife. He enjoyed working his cows and attending grandchildren's sporting events. Earnest was proceeded in death by his parents Emma and Roy Walker, sisters Dorothy Gunn and Valta Berry. He is survived by his wife Jo Walker, daughter Janet Fatsas, and husband Paul Fatsas, Debbie Hawk and husband Dennis Hawk, and Denna Green-Smith and husband Jeff Smith. Grandchildren Thomas Hubert and wife Hilary, Steven Green, Jr. and wife Kristy, Timothy Green and wife Linsey, Phillip Green and wife Jessica, Cayman Hawk, Emmalee Lechner and husband Ryan. He is also survived by great grandchildren Cameron Hubert, J. T. Hubert, Madison Green, Emma Green, Ainsley Green, Judson Green, Jolee Green, Wyatt Green, Corbin Green, Camden Hawk, T. J. Lechner, Mason Lechner, and Lee Lechner and sister Veda Brown. The family would like to thank Sophia Robinson for taking such good care of Dad for all these years. A special thank you to Becky Sircy as well. Both ladies have gone above and beyond in the care of both Earnest and Jo. Earnest will be remembered as a hardworking, honest man. He loved his wife and his family deeply. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 9th from 5-7pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 11am Friday, February 10th at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home with Bro. Chet Brake officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
