David Bray

David Lynn Bray, 75 of Corsicana, passed away from his earthly life on 01/17/2024. He was born on May 27, 1948 to John David (Sonny) and Martha Almeda (Northern) Bray in Corsicana, Texas. He was the oldest of 3 children. David was a graduate of Corsicana High School and was a member of the National Guard for 6 years. He was active at First Baptist Church. David worked for Chattanooga Glass in Corsicana for 28 years, and later drove a truck for Mike’s Delivery Service for 25 years before his “girls” said it was time to retire in 2019. David married the love of his life, Nanette in 1991. They were married for 32 years. He loved being a dad to Davelyn for 19 years before he got to be Dad to Jeremy and Whitney when he and Nanette married. His favorite title of all was Papa D and Pops to his 6 grandchildren. David loved attending baseball and football games to watch all the grandsons play. He was fond of attending stock shows to see Carley and all the other Navarro County kids showing their animals. There was one time Carley showed Rabbits and he said “I love my granddaughter, but this is worse than watching paint dry. I will have to skip the next rabbit show.” He enjoyed traveling throughout the Metroplex watching Brodey and Brock play baseball. When he could not travel, you could find him on his I-pad watching the boys on Game Changer. In the mornings, you could find him with his “Breakfast Crew” at the Whataburger or Braum’s. He and Nanette cherished their breakfast outings with Bennie and Frances and Bill and Lavon. David was preceded in death by his parents, brother Danny Bray and brother-in-law Tom Oliver. David is survived by his wife, Nanette. Children Davelyn Casbeer and husband Monty of Corsicana, Jeremy Bramall and wife Toni of Avalon, and Whitney McConnico and husband Clay of Argyle and inherited daughter as he called her Lavon Denson and husband Bill of Gary, TX. His pride and joy grandchildren Tyler Casbeer and Ashley of Corpus Christi, Carley Casbeer of Sweetwater, Jordan McConnico of Ft. Worth, Noah Bramall of Avalon, and Brodey McConnico and Brock McConnico of Argyle. Sister, Marilyn Oliver of Corsicana. Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law, Frances and Bennie Robinson of Corsicana. Several nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. Visitation will be Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel from 10:00am 11:00am with Funeral Service following at 11:00 am. Interment at Resthaven Memorial Park.
