Cheryl Ann Lewis

Cheryl Ann Lewis, 77, of Corsicana, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2024. She was born on July 5, 1946, in Memphis, Texas, to Collins Bryant Craghead and Ada Ruth Craghead. Cheryl is survived by her devoted family: her daughter Sherry (Ables) Mojica and son-in-law Ray Mojica; her grandsons Garret Collins McCulley and his wife Briana McCulley, William Grant McCulley and his wife Tiffanie McCulley, and Chase Anthony Mojica; and her great-grandchildren Wyatt Alan McCulley, Ryder Bryant McCulley, and Ellison Paige Garst. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Collins Bryant Craghead and Ada Ruth Craghead, and her brother, Roy Craghead. Cheryl was raised in Lakeview, Texas, where she graduated from high school, guided by her loving parents and their strong religious principles. In 1970, she moved to Corsicana and worked as a clerk in the Navarro County Courthouse and later for the State's MHMR. After retiring, Cheryl devoted much of her time to her family and her church, North Beaton Church of Christ. As a faithful member for many years, she played a vital role in the church community. She graciously served as the church secretary, producing the weekly bulletin and managing various office tasks. Cheryl was also a regular participant in the weekly Ladies' Bible Class, where her contributions and eagerness to share enriched everyone around her. With her sweet disposition and ready smile, Cheryl was always one of the first to arrive at worship services, demonstrating her true devotion as a child of God. Cheryl's hobbies and interests centered around her family, her church family, and her beloved cats and dogs, which brought her immense joy until the very end of her life. She took great pride in sharing pictures and videos of her loved ones with her closest friends. Her friendliness, kindness to all people, and devotion to her animals were a testament to her beautiful heart and soul. Her inspiring presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Cheryl's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. We know we can't have you here with us anymore, but we find comfort knowing that the angels have finally got you back. Goodbye to a wonderful woman and a beautiful mother. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the wonderful compassion and care given by her church family, friends, and the staff at Twilight Home and New Century Hospice. A memorial service to honor Cheryl's life will be held at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 11 am with Pastor Steve Orbison officiating. May Cheryl Ann Lewis rest in eternal peace, forever remembered and loved by all who knew her.
