Billie Kirk

Billie K. Kirk, 85, of Corsicana, Texas passed away Friday April 14, 2006 at Navarro Regional Hospital. She was born in Limestone County on November 25, 1920 and lived most of her life in the Pursley Community and was a member of the Pursley Church of Christ since she was about 15 years old until they moved to Corsicana where she placed membership with Westhill Church of Christ about six years ago. Billie married Roger S. Kirk of Pursley on April 11, 1941 at the age of 19 and had just celebrated their 65Th anniversary when she entered the hospital that day. She was preceded in death by her parents: O.B. Gunn and wife Mamie Faust Gunn. Brothers: C.B. Gunn, and Rex Gunn. Sisters: Nadine Gunn, Gaynell Hubbard, and Doris Comer. Survivors include her husband Roger Kirk of Corsicana. Sisters: Edrie Keil of Odessa, Tx., Wanda Brown of Corsicana, Tx., Louise Wireback of Shreveport, La. Nieces and nephews (she referred to as her children) David S. Brown and wife Linda, Dianne Compton and husband Bobby, Donna Lough and husband Terry, and Dennis Brown all of Corsicana, Tx. Other nieces and nephews include Jack Hubbard and wife Dora of Odessa, Tx., Dale Anderson and wife Linda of Kema, Tx., Scottie Anderson and wife Johanna of Abiline, Tx., Sandra Graves and husband Wesley of Snyder, Tx., Bobby and Barbara Gunn of Houston, Tx., Paul and Carol Gunn of Carrolton, Tx., and Dean and Brenda Comer of San Antonio, Tx. Great nieces and nephews are Amy Bruce of Corsicana, Tx., Beth Hartman of West Virginia, Joe B. Compton, John D. Compton, Jerod Compton and wife Dawn, all of Corsicana, Tx., Jason Lough and wife Angie of Midland, Tx., Josh Brown and wife Laura of Lubbock, Rachel and Dean Wilson of Stephenville, Tx., Anthony, Gary, and Jeff Anderson of Houston, Tx. Brother-in-law Chester Kirk of Cayuga, Tx., Charles and Margo Alford and Kindel and Amanda of Pursley, Tx. Billie cherished her family and friends, getting together and playing cards and domino's, laughing and having lots of fun. Her special friends were Tressie Kieth and Gladys Baggett. But more than anything she loved the Lord and His church. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, April, 17, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel with Ferman Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be David Brown, Dennis Brown, Bobby Compton, Terry Lough, Jason Lough, and Jerod Compton.
