Annette Williams

Annette Williams, age 82, of Purdon, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026. She was born on March 11, 1944, in McComb, Mississippi, to Ray Cloy and Louise Thompson. Annette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness and warmth touched everyone who knew her. Known affectionately by many as “Sarge,” she had a special gift for organizing and coordinating family gatherings, holidays, and events, always making sure everyone felt welcomed and loved. She was truly the heart of her family. She shared 60 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Charles Williams, before his passing. Together they built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Annette loved to travel and was always ready for the next adventure, no matter where it might take her. She was sharp as a tack throughout her life and was known as the family navigator, always dependable and steady. She had a gentle spirit, never spoke badly of anyone, and loved each of her brothers and sisters deeply. Her family proudly celebrates five generations of her legacy. She was also a devoted Texas Rangers fan and took her baseball seriously. During games, everyone knew not to interrupt her while she cheered on her team. She is survived by her daughter, Karren Gerron and husband Ron; her siblings, Richard Cloy and wife Cindy, Thomas Cloy and wife Jeane, Theresa Hinkle and husband Dennis, Julie Knight and husband Gary, and Wanda Hodges; her sister-in-law, Lynn Cloy; her brother-in-law, Bob Barham; her granddaughter, Brandy Martinez; her great-grandchildren, K'lea Martinez and Mercyjane Seuss; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Louise Cloy; her husband, Charles Williams; her siblings, Maurice Cloy, Rita Dickinson and husband Bill, Mary Ellen Barham, and brother in law Bruce Hodges A memorial service honoring Annette’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Purdon Community Church. Annette will be remembered for her loving heart, her unwavering devotion to family, her joyful spirit, and the kindness she freely shared with everyone around her.
