Alifonsa Cobb

Alifonsa Cobb, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, wife, friend and Angel passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Thursday, July 25, 2013 in Corsicana to be with our Lord and Savior. She was born February 28, 1928 in Corsicana to Ramon and Santos Gonzales. She lived a long life of 85 years. Alifonsa was a lifelong resident of Corsicana. Her life was devoted to her husband, Herbert Lafell Cobb and their ten children. She took joy in her family and the simple things in life. She is most remembered for her strength and the delicate love in her heart and hands. Her hands held precious babies, wiped many tears and held tight to many hands. She took pride in making homemade meals. sewing clothing for her children and keeping a warm home. She gave strength to all she touched. Her hands brought happiness to others. She had a strong faith in Christ, in life and in people. She radiated with charisma and generosity. She gave of herself to all she was blessed to cross paths with in life. That is how she lived her life, and we are grateful and blessed to have witnessed her example. We will miss her sweet touch. She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Herbert Lafell Cobb; two sons, Raymond Cobb and Clyde Cobb; a daughter, Clara Cobb; two grandchildren, Kevin Spill and Shannon Cobb. She is survived by her devoted sons and daughters, Fitzhugh Cobb of Corsicana, Jan Farmer and husband Dwight of Corsicana, Logan Cobb and wife Jamie of Corsicana, Herbert Cobb and wife Arlette of Angus, Colleen Wommack and husband Malcolm of Corsicana, Judy Spill and husband Walter Spill the second of Winters, Texas and June Holder and husband John of Waco. She leaves precious memories with her grandchildren, Monica Cobb, Lafell Cobb, Carl Cobb, Christie Cobb, Jason Farmer, Janifer Bullard, Ray Garner, Ronnie Garner, Rhonda Garner, Ondrea Northern, Bronzon Cobb, Nina Arreola, Shanel Anderson, Amanda Carr, Cassie Cobb, Clara Cobb and Clay Spill. The Lord blessed her with the chance to smell the sweetness of her great grandchildren; Jude, Jade, Sunshine, Nova, Chloe, Jaycie, Kyle, Kyla, Keys, Wyatt, Breanna, Brittney, Aspen, Willow, London, Luke, Logan, Camron, Jazlyn, Clyde, Solara, Mykkah, Kaylee, Joshua, Jose, Jonathon, Airyca, Warren, Kelsie, Jared, Sidney and Skylar. She leaves angel kisses for her great-great grandchildren, Aiden, Lilly, Shaun, Audrie, Joshua and Cody. Visitation will be Friday, July 26th from 6-8pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Service will be 3:00pm Saturday, July 27th at Petty's Chapel Baptist Church in Roane. Burial will follow at Modrell Cemetery in Corsicana.
