Carl W. Morris

On December 15, 2018 at the age of 84, Carl Wayne Morris, left his earthly life for his eternal life in heaven. He was the only child born to William Grady Morris and Callie Faye (Fletcher) Morris on April 18, 1934 in Corsicana. He graduated from Corsicana High School in 1951. He began work as an apprentice with Frank Childress at Childress Electric and became a licensed electrician. In 1952, he met Joyce Allred, informing her on their first date that they would marry! In 1954, that prediction came true! They then left Corsicana for employment with Southern Pacific Railroad. On returning to Corsicana in 1956, he started his own electrical business, Morris Electric. He later became a developer and home builder who was personally responsible for many well known subdivisions. His love for animals was obvious. He watched birds, foxes, turkeys, and bobcats from what he considered "the best nursing home" (his second story bay window of his house). The view of his pond was picturesque and his dearest friend Bill Barnes would often visit bringing with him legendary stories! Carl is survived by his wife of 64 years Joyce Morris. Daughters Cindy Erwin and husband Joe, Becky Hollingsworth and husband Jack, Susan Miller and husband Vic, Shannon Lagomarsino and husband James. Grandchildren Lara Morelock, Kimmy Gorden, Amber Finn, Josh Hollingsworth, Caleb Hollingsworth, Aaron Erwin, Adam Erwin, Carlee Miller, Logan Norch, Aidan Lagomarsino, Reagan Lagomarsino, Olivia Lagomarsino, Preston Lagomarsino and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous cousins including JoAnn Cravens who he considered more like at sister. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Kent Rogers for years of care and kindness as well as New Century Hospice for the love and support given in his final days. He adored Ashley, Brenda, Sandy, Cindy, and Chaplin Steven. Caretakers Marilyn Wright and Janice Russ kept a smile on his face with their countless stories even though Carl insisted that his were better! Their love and attention was endless. Thank you all!A Celebration of life will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 1:00 pm in Oakwood Cemetery with John Barber officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
